Therapy Services at Woodside Lutheran Home

A Woodside Lutheran Home resident works on car transfers during a therapy session in our state-of-the-art therapy gym.  Our dedicated team of therapy professionals provide a wide array of services including physical, occupational and speech therapies.  Some common conditions treated by our therapy team include:

Miss Ivy with Residents at Woodside Lutheran Home

Pet therapy visits bring much joy to our residents.  Miss Ivy is one of many rescued dogs who visit regularly.  Our life enrichment team does a great job of meeting the many different interests of our residents on a daily basis.  The life enrichment schedule is always filled with many fun and diverse activities such as:

  • Special holiday and seasonal entertainment/parties
  • Painting
  • Gardening
  • Music and dancing

Nurses help restore and maintain the health of our residents and patients.  Skilled nursing care is provided 24 hours per day, seven days per week.  Our highly trained nurses help patients with things such as:

  • Intravenous therapy
  • Diabetic management
  • Wound care
  • Medication management

Frequently Asked Questions

Our short term rehab offers private suites that include a private bathroom with a shower.

The following items listed are suggested for a patient’s comfort and convenience.  Laundry service is included, however, patients may make arrangements for a family member or friend to do their laundry.  We highly suggest labeling all items to help prevent them from being misplaced.

Patients should bring the following:

  • 5-7 pairs of socks
  • 5-7 pairs of comfortable pants
  • 5-7 shirts
  • 5-7 undergarments
  • 2-3 pairs of pajamas
  • 1 pair of non-slip slippers
  • 1 pair of non-slip shoes
  • 1 bathrobe
  • 1 outdoor season appropriate jacket
  • Toiletries such as comb/brush, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, hairspray, lotion, razor, makeup, deodorant
  • Cellphone and charger (All short term rehab rooms have a landline phone)

All therapy services are ordered by the patient or resident’s physician.  Therapy services are available seven days per week in our state-of-the-art therapy center.

 

The average length of stay is about two weeks.  A dedicated Transitions Coordinator who is a registered nurse along with a Social Worker assist with this process to make sure the patient has everything needed to be as successful as possible when leaving our rehab center.

Yes, there are physicians assigned to Woodside Lutheran Home who round to visit patients and residents.  These physicians typically visit on Wednesdays.

Yes, patients and residents are allowed to leave for things such as physician appointments, family gatherings and social outings.  We just ask prior to leaving that the resident or patient notify their nurse.

Amenities include:

  • Skilled nursing care 24 hours per day, seven days per week
  • Semi-private, private and deluxe rooms
  • Cable TV and telephone service available
  • Spacious and bright dining areas in each living area
  • Homemade meals including therapeutic and specials diets created by a registered dietitian
  • Large comfortable lounges and outdoor spaces for visiting and relaxing with friends and family
  • Chapel and full-time ELCA Lutheran pastor along with other religious services and Bible studies
  • On site beauty and barber services
  • Scheduled transportation

Yes, Woodside Lutheran Home has a secured memory care unit with specially trained staff.  As part of the memory care unit, activities are also designed to meet the needs of those experiencing memory loss.

Yes!  Becky Rankin, RN, is our Alzheimer’s Support Group for Family Caregivers meeting facilitator.  Meetings are held the third Tuesday of every month at 1:30 PM.  For more information or to register call Becky at 920.405.3535 ext. 1005 or email [email protected].

 

Yes, our Business Office is a wonderful resource for our patients, residents and their families who have questions and concerns regarding billing and payment.
